Wild Hog Hunting

Hog hunting in South Florida is a bucket list trip for a lot of hunters and a great experience for both beginner and seasoned hunters. Wild hogs, or wild boar as many refer to them as, inhabit the swamps, cypress heads, oak hammocks, pine woods, palmetto flats, pastures, and agricultural fields of South Florida, and have a tendency to move around a lot. Hogs are one of the wariest creatures in the Florida woods but have weak eyesight which is compensated for by their excellent sense of smell and adept hearing. Florida boar hogs have teeth, or cutters, that are sought after by trophy hunters, while female hogs, or sows are one of the tastiest eating critters in the woods.

Wild hogs can be hunted year round without a FL hunting license as they are a non-native nuisance animal. This gives hunters many opportunities to hunt them a variety of ways. Most hog hunters prefer to use a gun or a bow, but hogs can also be harvested with a crossbow, a spear, or even with dogs. Most hunters prefer to sight and stalk wild Florida hogs, but hunting from blinds and tree stands is probably the most productive way to get close enough for a clean ethical harvest.

Hogs are very nocturnal by nature and another productive way to harvest them is by using thermal scopes at night. These scopes allow us to locate hogs in the darkness via their heat signature and stalk close to them undetected. Thermal hog hunting is an exciting experience for hunters of all skill levels.

Your guide will skin and quarter your hog for transportation to your processor of choice. Processing and taxidermy are available for an extra charge.
